While I was serving in Oahu with another Christian organization called Surfing The Nations we had many community outreaches where we would go around praying, evangelizing and just helping those in need. My group and I noticed a group of people standing on the side of a building and one of them was this man, his name is Uncle TJ. We started having conversation with Uncle TJ and as we got to know him we learned his story: how he landed in Hawaii, what happened to his knee, his life etc. We wanted to see him healed because we noticed he was walking with a cane. So we ended up preaching the Gospel to him and prayed for healing in his knees. Unfortunately he didn’t get healed however it is still a seed planted (1 Cor 3:6) and he was shocked that a group of young adults just wanted to get to know him and wanted to pray for him to be healed.
